2 killed in cracker unit explosion

Madurai, July 7 (UNI) Two persons were killed in an explosion at a cracker manufacturing unit at Sivakasi in the neighbouring Virudhunagar District of Tamil Nadu today.

Police sources said the explosion occurred when one of the workers weighed some chemicals used in cracker manufacture.

While Amalraj (42) of Sengamangalampatti was charred to death, Vairavan of Arundadhiyar Colony died at the Sivakasi Government Hospital.

In the impact, four rooms in the shed also collapsed.
