11, including SP leader booked under Gangster Act

Mahoba, July 7 (UNI) At least eleven people, including Samajwadi Party leader Raju Singh, were booked under the Gangster Act here today.

Raju alias Avnindra and his younger sibling Sonu are also the nephews of Uttar Pradesh Small Scale Industries minister Badshah Singh.

The other accused, identified as -- Sonu Singh, Raju Mishra, Santosh Tiwari, Harendra Dwivedi, Bharat Tiwari, Veenu, Babu Mishra, Om Narayan Singh and Shankar Mishra -- have been booked under the Gangster Act in Kharela police station.

The accused were charged with assaulting and torturing the general public, while Raju was SP District Vice-President in the previous regime.

Five of the eleven accused are presently behind bars in idol theft case.
