RSS Prachar Pramukh Bhatnagar consigned to flames

New Delhi, July 6 (UNI) The mortal remains of senior RSS functionary Adhish Bhatnagar, who died yesterday, was consigned to flames at the Nigambodh ghat here today.

His younger brother Avneesh Bhatnagar lit the funeral pyre.

Bhatnagar, 51, was suffering from intestinal cancer since past one year. His demise came at the RSS office at Jhandewalan yesterday.

RSS chief K Sudershan arrived here from Latur, Maharashtra to attend the last rites.

Senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad, Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra, besides other senior members were also present.

Born at Agra on August 17, 1955, he was involved in RSS activities since his college days. Joining the Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarti Parishad (ABVP), he became a Pracharak and was jailed during the Emergency. He handled various responsibilities in the RSS and was made Joint Prachar Pramukh and before being promoted to a full-fledged Prachar Pramukh in 2004.

Despite his illness, he continued to keep up with his work, including touring the country extensively.
