One nabbed, 2.5 kg Charas seized

Mumbai, July 6 (UNI) Navi Mumbai police have arrested a man at Vashi and seized 2.5 kg of 'Charas' from his possession, which was worth Rs 93,600 in the domestic market.

Acting on a tip-off that a group of four perons would be coming to Vashi at Pune-Mumbai Highway flyover brigde to deliver 'Charas' to a party, the police laid a trap and nabbed Jameel Hanif Sheikh last evening at 1845 hours. The police also seized 2.5 kg of Charas from him. However, his three associates gave a slip to the police, police said.

Of the three absconding persons, one hailed from Patna in Bihar, while the other two were from Sanpada in Navi Mumbai and Kawla in neighbouring Thane district.

The police declined to divulge their names.
