Man rapes daughter, absconding

Kanpur, July 6 (UNI) A man allegedly raped his 18-year-old daughter at Kacchi Basti locality in Kalyanpur area here under the influence of liquor.

The accused Mansharam is absconding, while the victim was today sent for a medical examination, police said.

The teenaged girl arrived at the police station last evening and complained that Mansharam committed the crime on Wednesday night, after finding her alone in the house. She broke down while narrating the harrowing tale.

According to police, Mansharam has two wives and the victim is the daughter of his first wife, who had gone to her parent's place on the fateful night.

Later, Mansharam issued life threats to the victim against reporting the crime.

Meanwhile, a manhunt had been launched to arrest the rapist.
