Inter-state killer nabbed in Pune

Gulbarga, July 6 (UNI) The city police arrested a notorious hired killer who was allegedly involved in ten cases of murder, extortion and kidnapping in Karnatka and Maharashtra, and seized two guns and ammunition from him in Pune.

ASP Nagaraj told UNI that Bhagappa Uchappa(28) was a gang member of Chandappas Harijan, who was killed in an encounter in 2002.

Bhagappa, who had been elusive for nearly ten years, had allegedly killed six people in different incidents in Bijapur district and another four persons Gulbarga.

On a tip off, a special task force team went to Pune and arrested him yesterday. A .9 mm pistol, .303 rifle, 20 cartridges and other lethal weapons were seized.

He was produced in a city court which remanded him to judicial custody.
