Cops caught taking bribes

Tiruchirapalli, July 6 (UNI) A senior Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officer today caught red-handed two police constables at a check post near Coleroon River Bridge on the Tiruchirapalli-Chennai National Highway while they were taking bribe late this evening.

According to DVAC sources, DVAC Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) R Ambikapathy, while returning to the city, found N Thangaswamy and K Ramachandran busy collecting bribes from drivers of heavy vehicles like trucks and tanker lorries.

The DSP took them to the DVAC office here for questioning where he found hundreds of rupees of cash tucked in their pockets.

Meanwhile a special DVAC team rushed to the houses of both the constables for conducting raids.
