Cloudburst causes heavy damages in Uttarakhand

Rudraprayag, July 6 (UNI) A cloudburst at Jakholi and Agustmuni Development Block in this district of Uttarakhand late last night caused heavy damage to agricultural land, said Jakholi Sub District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar.

Mr Kumar said due to the cloudburst a flood-like situation has arisen. Besides damage to agricultural land many drinking water and irrigation projects have also been damaged.

A 50 metre-long motor road at Panjana has also suffered damage cutting access to Kumri, Chaka, Phalati and Dudola areas. Few houses, cowsheds and parking lots have also been reportedly damaged.

However, no loss of life has been reported, the SDM confirmed.
