K'taka: BJP Yuva Morcha stage Dharna against Patil
Bangalore, July 6: The members of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Yuva Morcha today staged dharna in front of the statue of Mahathma Gandhi here in protest against the candidature of Mrs Pratibha Patil for the July 19 presidential elections.
The Yuva Morcha members were protesting against what they claimed the tainted background of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and Left parties sponsored candidate, who they alleged, had misused government funds in running various educational and co-operative institutions.
Stating that Mrs Patil with her alleged tainted background in misusing state funds was ineligeble to contest for the country's highest post the Yuva Morcha members also raised slogans against her.
Banners against her were also put up at several vantage points in the city by the Yuva Morcha members.
