BJP leader shot dead

Ghazipur, July 6 (UNI) A local BJP leader was shot dead by armed miscreants in Bhudkuda area here today.

Police said district BJP Kisan Morcha general secretary Sabhajit Singh of Majhanpur was returning home from a temple, when unidentified assailants on his prowl shot him.

He died on the spot.

Old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the crime.

Meanwhle, police had registered a named FIR against Dheeraj Anand and one of his kin. A manhunt was on.
