Sugar prices ease on increase in stock arrivals
Navi Mumbai, July 5 (UNI) Sugar prices today again drifted lower on sustained selling pressure by stockists in view of increase in stock arrivals from mills, traders at the wholesale sugar market here said.
Sugar in small and medium grades came down by Rs five and Rs ten per quintal respectively on lack of buying support even at current low levels from bulk consumers.
Similarly, Ex-mill sugar prices in small grade also declined by Rs 10 and Rs 25 per quintal respectively on lack of fresh demand coupled with increased stock supply.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,370/1,411, Medium grade: Rs 1,420/1,525, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,350/1,370, Medium grade: Rs 1,400/1,430.
