Second ARC's term extended by seven months
New Delhi, Jul 5 (UNI) The Cabinet today approved extension of the term of the Second Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC), headed by Mr Veerappa Moily, by seven months -- till March 31, 2008 -- to enable it to submit reports on various aspects of administrative reforms.
Briefing reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi said the ARC had already submitted five reports and proposed to submit 14 more on various important aspects of the public administration.
The Second ARC was set up with a mandate to hammer out a detailed blueprint for revamping the public administration system in keeping with the changing times.
''Implementation of its reports after due consideration is bound to improve service delivery,'' he said.
Among the five reports submitted so far are ''Right to Information: Master Key to Good Governance''; ''Unlocking Human Capital: Entitlements and Governance, A case Study''; ''Crisis Management'' and ''Ethics in Governance''.
