Russia rejects Britain's request for Lugovoi's extradition
Moscow, July 5 (UNI) Russia has officially sent a document to London rejecting the demand of British authorities to extradite Russian businessman Andrei Lugovoi, the main accused in the murder of former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko last November.
An anonymous source told Interfax news agency here that Lugovoi would not be extradited to Britain.
The Russian Prosecutor General's office, which sent the official reply to British authorities to their extradition request for Lugovoi, based its decision on the fact ''the Russian constitution bans handing its citizens over to foreign states,'' the source added.
