RSS Prachar Pramukh Bhatnagar passes away after long illness
New Delhi, July 5 (UNI) Senior RSS functionary Adhish Bhatnagar today passed away after a long illness.
Bhatnagar, 51, was suffering from intestinal cancer since the past one year. His demise came at the RSS office at Jhandewalan today. His last rites will be held at the Nigambodh Ghat at 1100 hrs, tomorrow, where RSS chief K Sudershan will also be present.
BJP president Rajnath Singh, expressing shock and grief at the death of the RSS Prachar Pramukh, described him as a ''dilligent RSS activist and a true nationalist.'' Born at Agra on August 17, 1955, he was involved in RSS activities since his college days. Joining the Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarti Parishad (ABVP), he became a Pracharak and was jailed during the Emergency. He handled various responsibilities in the RSS and was made Joint Prachar Pramukh and before being promoted to a full-fledged Prachar Pramukh in 2004.
He was diagnosed with cancer in July last year, but even despite his illness, continued to be keep up with his work, including touring the country extensively.
