Rival groups clash over land dispute, 7 hurt

Varanasi, July 5 (UNI) A woman was among seven people wounded in a clash between rival groups over a land dispute in Rohania area here today.

The incident took place at Badhaini village where two groups indulged in firing and brick batting over a dispute pertaining to a piece of land and garden, police said.

Seven persons including Ramchandra Singh (70), Budhiram, Dharma Devi, Sushil, Ramesh, Akhilesh and Abhilesh were wounded.

They were later admitted to district hospital by the police.

Condition of one of them is stated to be critical.

A licensed gun used by a group during the clash had been seized.
