Pratibha to campaign for Presidential poll tomorrow

Bangalore, July 5 (UNI) The United Progressive Alliance(UPA) and Left parties sponsored Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil will attend the Congress Legislature Party(CLP) meeting here tomorrow in the run-up to the July 19 Presidential election.

Talking to UNI here, Congress leaders said Ms Patil will arrive here from Tiruvananthapuram tomorrow and participate in the CLP meeting, where she will seek votes for herself in the Presidential election.

Congress party's observer for Karnataka M M Jacob and other senior party leaders would accompany Ms Patil.

Mrs Patil would also meet a few Independent Legislators, besides Communist Party of India(Marxist) CPI(M) and Republican Party of India(RPI) which have one legislator each in the asembly.

Mr Jacob said the party would seek the support of Janata Dal(S) to Ms Patil, despite having a soured relationship with it.

He, however, ruled out the possibility of any re-alliance with JD(S), after the latter formed Government with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state.
