JK: Grenade attack on security forces
Srinagar, July 5: Militants today attacked security forces with a hand grenade while one ultra of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was arrested in the Kashmir valley today.
A police spokesman said militants hurled a hand grenade towards security forces at Sangarwani in south Kashmir district of Pulwama. However, it missed the intended target and exploded without causing any damage.
Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir, CRPF and 49 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) in a joint successful operation arrested the HM miliant Gulzar Ahmad Wagay alias Adil, he added.
Two hand grenades, 42 rounds of ammunition and two detonator were recovered from his possession, he said adding Adil was active in south Kashmir for the past several years.
He said the militant was involved in many militancy related incidents at Dooru and Vessu areas.
