Nagaland: Ganja worth Rs 50 lakhs seized

Kohima, July 5: The Narcotic Cell of Kohima Police recovered contraband Ganja amounting 2600 Kgs from an LPG Gas Tanker at Khuzama Check Gate on the Nagaland-Manipur border yesterday and arrested two persons in this connection.

Official sources said that the LPG carrier tanker, coming from Imphal, was bound for Dimapur and the contraband Ganjas were concealed inside the Tank by opening the knotted lid at the rear.

The driver of the tanker and the Handyman, both from Manipur were arrested and the tanker was seized.

The contraband was estimated to worth over Rs 50 lakhs in the local market, sources said.

A case had been registered and investigation was on, sources said.
