Congress corporator opposes beautification drive

Mumbai, Jul 05 (UNI) Congress corporator from Colaba Vinod Shekhar has opposed the BMC's move to beautify the Gateway of India by cutting trees around the area.

In a letter to Mayor Shubha Raul, Shekhar has alleged that public money is being misused in the area surrounding the Gateway.

Many of the local residents and environmentalists are against the beautification of Gateway of India, as it involves the cutting of many trees, the letter added.
