Bangalore-based pilgrim drugged and looted
Tirumala, July 5(UNI) A Bangalore-based pilgrim Shakuntala was drugged and looted Rs 60,000 worth of articles, including two gold rings and cash Rs 5000 in a cottage at Tirumala last night.
Police said the 40-year-old pilgrim, who met her co-passenger Sundar in a train from Bangalore, took a cottage with him on the night of July three. She remained unconscious after taking the eatable items offered by Sundar. The accused ran away with booty.
Shakuntala, after regaining consciousness, lodged a complain to the police station here.
She was admitted to Aswini hospital in Tirumala.
Investigation was underway, police added.
