Army help sought in rescue operation in Pali district
Jodhpur, July 5 (UNI) The district administration has sought the help of the army helicopters to evacuate the villagers stranded in flood waters in Pali and Sirohi districts of Rajasthan.
Jodhpur Divisional Commissioner Mrs Kiran Soni Gupta said the services of the army helicopters have been sought in evacuating six families in Sojat and Surehita villages in Pali district who had found shelter on the roof top of their houses to save themselves from the rising flood waters.
She said in the same way people from Bhutelab and Narsingpura villages were being evacuated after rain water gushing to the villages inundating the houses in the area.
The water released from the Jawai dam has inundated large low lying areas in Pali district compounding the situation there.
UNI
