APCC appeals secular parties to support Pratibha

Hyderabad, Jul 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshava Rao today appealed to all the secular parties to extend their support to UPA-Left supported Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil.

Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Rao expressed confidence that the secular parties would vote for the presidential candidate in a democratic way.

He said he would appeal to TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu and TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao to extend their support to Ms Patil, as they were committed to secularism.

Stating that Ms Patil would arrive here tomorrow for campaigning, he said the Congress would convene a meeting in this regard.

Urging TDP, TRS to take part in the meeting, he said CPI, CPI(M) and the MIM would attend it.
