Six AANLA cadres held

Guwahati, Jul 4 (UNI) Six militants of the All Adivasi National Liberation Army (AANLA), including a woman, were held at Silanijan in Golaghat district of upper Asom yesterday.

Police informed that acting on a tip off, the militants' vehicle was intercepted at Silanijan at about 1645 hours.

The rebels were on their way from Jaborijan, under Bokajan police station in neighbouring Karbi Anglong district, to Golaghat town.

They were going for the treatment of two of the arrested cadres who were suffering from malaria.

Three money receipts bearing the stamp of the central committee of the AANLA, a mobile phone and cash were recovered from them, police added.
