Reliance-Cisco launch internet services for SME

Bangalore, Jul 4: Reliance Communications, India's largestintegrated telecom service provider and Cisco, the worldwide leader innetworking today joined hands to provide business Internet Services forSmall and Medium Enterprises.

Announcing the launch at a press conference here today, RelianceCommunication President and CEO Prakash Bajpai said that the newlylaunched Reliance Business Internet Services, enabled by thestate-of-the-art Wireleaa Boardband Network, was a composite bundledsuite aimed at encouraging IT adoption by SMEs by considering reducinghigh entry costs.

He said that there are more than seven million SMEs and it is growing segment which was not tapped hitherto.

"Business automation was fast becoming a basic requirment for SMEsin order to maintain optimum optimum efficiencies and remaincompetitive in today's environment. The newly launched service was thefirst step in our endeavor to provide a tailor made package for thefast growing SME market in the country", he added.

Cisco India and SAARC Senior Vice President (Commercial) PramodhMenon, who was also present said that "with increasing globalisation atbusinesses, Indian SMEs have understood the criticial transformationalimpact of technology." "The new tie-up with Reliance to offer BusinessInternet services was in sync with Cisco's SME market strategy to helpcustomers create sustainable competitive advantage, improve operationalefficiencies and ultimately enhance their revenues and profits," headded.
