No offer of vice-president post till date: A B Bardhan

Ranchi, Jul 4: CPI general secretary A B Bardhan today said he hadnot received any offer for Vice-President's post till date.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Bardhan said neither the Left parties nor the UPA allies discussed the issue.

Asked if he would accept if he was offered the post of Vice-Presidentship, he refused to comment saying he would not speak on theissue which had not taken place at all.

To another query on Speaker Somnath Chaterjee's name doing therounds, he told the reporters to put the question to Mr Chatterjeehimself.

Coming down heavily on the BJP for their attempt to malign thename of UPA presidential candidate Pratibha Patil, Mr Bardhan said theNDA was aware of their certain defeat in the coming poll.

Even the Supreme Court and Election Commission did not acept their (BJP's) grievances.
