Eighth British bomb suspect detained in Australia
Canaberra, July 3: The eighth suspect in connection with a suspected al Qaeda plot to detonate car bombs in London and Scotland was detained in the Australian city of Brisbane, officials said today.
British police have confirmed an eighth man has been detained overseas, but have declined to say where.
The 27-year-old man was arrested at Brisbane airport, Queensland Premier Peter Beattie said. A spokesman for Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said the man had been detained but not arrested.
