Another army jawan commits suicide in Jammu

Jammu, July 3: Another army soldier allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at Ratnochak Cantonment area on the city outskirts here last night, a Defence spokesman today said.

Rfn Vishnoprasad Singh of 14 Rajputana Rifles (RAJ RIF) shot himself at 2150 hrs yesterday, Defence spokesman Lt Col S D Goswamy told sources.

A case has been registered with the Bari Brahamana police station, he informed, adding that the army has instituted a Court of Inquiry (CoI) to probe the incident.

The incident comes hard on the heels of a woman army officer of Engineers Regiment Cpt Megha Razdaan hanging herself at her official residence in Kunjwani, about 8 km from the city, on the city outskirts on Sunday night.
