12 killed, dozens injured in Egypt tour bus crash
Ismailia (Egypt), July 3: At least 12 Egyptians were killed and 58 others injured when a tour bus collided with a bus carrying labourers on a highway near the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh today, a medical source said.
The buses crashed head-on along a dangerous bend in the Sinai peninsula, the source said.
Reckless driving, lax traffic rules and poor road conditions cause many road crashes in Egypt. A series of road and rail accidents in the past few years triggered a public outcry over the government's handling of road and transport safety.
