Vet dispensary for every two gram panchayats

Shimla, July 2 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said that one veterinary dispensary would be provided for every two gram panchayats of the state to cater to the needs of the farmers rearing animals.

He was addressing the people after laying the foundation stone of Kisan Bhawan at Chaudhary Sarvan Kumar University of Agriculture to be constructed at cost of Rs 1.5 crore at Palampur today.

Speaking on the ocassion, he said that there was need for second green revolution in the country to cater to the increased demand of population for food and other products.

The Chief Minister stressed upon innovative farming techniques with the help of research. He said that all related aspects of agro-farming should be taken into consideration during research.

Virbhadra Singh said that imparting training to farmers by the university scientists was the important function of the university and it should act as the laboratory to feed the farming community with latest innovation in the sector. He said that no research work was complete in achieving its aims and objectives until the same was percolated down to the grass root level and implemented in the farms.
