Special attention given to drinking water in budget
Dehra Dun, July 2 (UNI) The Budget presented by Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri today has given special priority to drinking water supply in rural areas with a provision Rs 177 crore.
The Budget has also provided Rs 336.43 crore for various state sector programmes like urban drinking water and sewer pogrammes, rural drinking water programmes, drinking water at yatra routes, revival of dried streams and cleaning of important rivers of state.

new
hand
pumps
would
be
installed
and
1423
handpumps
repaired.
Six
tubewells
would
be
started
and
11
mini
tubewells
would
be
electrified.
Besides

water
tanks
and
309
pillar
type
water
tanks
would
be
constructed
on
yatra
routes
