Sabharwal murder: Accused released on parole
Ujjain, MP, July 2 (UNI) Even as recording of statements in the Professor H S Sabharwal murder being carried out in a local court is in its last phase, the Madhya Pradesh High Court's Indore bench has ordered the release of an accused on parole for 15 days.
Following the High Court's order, accused Vishal Rajoria was released on parole on June 30.
Prof Sabharwal was killed in an attack by students irked over postponement of student unions election on August 26, 2006. Six ABVP workers, including the then state ABVP President Shashi Ranjan Akela, were named as accused in the case and were arrested.
The matter was heard by Judge A K Sharma but he was transferred while recording of statements was in the last phase. Judge Girish Sharma will hear the case now.
So far, 48 witnesses have recorded their statements, while statements of five other witnesses will take place on July 7.
