Not aware of land cases against AP CM: CEC

Tirupati, July 2 (UNI) Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy today said he was not aware of the court proceedings against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy over suppression of land ownership in the affidavit for the 2004 assembly elections.

Mr Swamy told newspersons here that he was not aware of the order of Pulivendula Magistrate Court in Kadapa district against Dr Reddy, who allegedly did not disclose possession of 11 acres of land in the affidavit filed before the assembly polls.

''I have not recieved any report in this regard,'' he added.

On allegations against former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha over filing nominations from four constituencies during the 2001 assembly elections against the provisions of the Representaion of People Act, the CEC said Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu would take appropriate action.
