New Delhi, July 2 (UNI) Services on the Line-1 (Shahdara - Rithala line) of the Delhi Metro were affected for some time this evening after a bird dropped some foreign object on the overhead electrification wire at Shastri Park station, a DMRC spokesperson said.

''Metro services on the Shahdara-Rithala line were affected for about 40 minutes today after a bird dropped some foreign object on the overhead electrification wire at Shastri Park station at 1616 hours,'' the spokesperson said.

''As a result, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation had to resort to single line operation between Shahdara and Tis Hazari stations for sometime,''he said.

Normal traffic was, however, restored after the problem was rectified at 1655 hours.

Three train trips had to be cancelled in both directions as a result of the incident. Meanwhile, one train did single line operation between Shahdara and Tis Hazari stations.
