Metal prices up on fresh industrial demand

Mumbai, July 2 (UNI) Select metals became costlier on increase of fresh industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said today.

In ferrous category, copper heavy, brass cutting and aluminium utensils rose by Rs 200, Rs 600 and Rs 50 per quintal respectively on reduced stock supply.

In non-ferrous category, copper wire bars, zinc slab and aluminium ingots were up by Rs 300, Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on better buying support.

Nickel cathode eased by Rs 10 per kg. on poor demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,700, Copper utensils - Rs 31,000, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,400 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,500.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,600, Zinc slabs - Rs 18,000, Lead ingots - Rs 10,300, Tin slab - Rs 695 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,720 (per kg).
