New Delhi, July 2: Country's largest car manufacturer Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL) today said it recorded a 23.7 per cent jump in its sales during June this year, with total vehicles sold stood at 59,917 units (including exports) as compared to 48,425 vehicles in the same month a year ago.

The company's sales in the domestic market rose to 25.5 per cent during the month, where it sold 56,000 units against 44,626 units in the corresponding period last year.

MUL exported 3,197 cars in June as compared to 3,799 units in the same month previous year.

The sales in the passenger cars segment grew by 26.3 per cent in June this year, when MUL sold 55,800 vehicles from 44,168 vehicles in June'06.

''The constraint in the availability of SX4 and Swift was compounded during the month in view of the week-long scheduled maintenance shutdown of the plants. The supply henceforth is likely to improve,'' the company said in a statement here.

MUL will launch its much-awaited Grand Vitara in the SUV segment this month, which will be pitched against Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavor and Hyundai Tuson.
