Maoists lynch two in Janadalat in Bihar
Motihari, Jul 2: Red rage continued unabated in Bihar in face of the red alert sounded across the state, with Maoists lynching two villagers and critically injuring one at Sihsani village under Pakridayal police station area in East Champaran district of North Bihar last night.
The extremists lynched the two and injured another by holding a 'jan adalat' (people's court) at the village.
Police superintendent S K Jha said here today that about 50 maoists held a court at a secluded place in the village well past midnight and awarded punishment to three people on the allegations of being police informers. He said according to the punishment, all the three people resident of Sishani village were beaten by bamboo sticks.
Mr Jha said two people namely Raghu Matho and Lakshmi Sah were lynched in the Jan adalat, while another person whose identity was yet not ascertained sustained serious injuries. The injured person was admitted to the local hospital.
Meanwhile, scared by the maoist activities the relatives of the deceased were tight-lipped and refused to disclose anything about the incident.
The SP said the Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) had been deployed at the village. Entire area had been sealed and massive man hunt was launched under the supervision of the paramilitary forces to nab the extremists.
Earlier, the maoists attack on a police station and an outpost in Rohtas district on the night of Saturday had rocked the entire state as ten people, including seven police personnel, were killed in the incident.
In view of the incident the state government had sounded high alert in the entire state asking the police stations and out posts to remain extre cautious. Night patrolling was also intensified.
Later the police had an encounter with the maoists in the belt of river Sone in Auragabad district as they had sneaked into the river belt after their operation in Rohtas district. The maoists though managed to escape, but the police recovered huge cache of firearms from the spot.
The maoists had also attacked a camp of the CRPF at Sinchai colony under Madanpur police station area in Gaya district past mid night, however the timely action by the CRPF foiled the attempts of the extremists.
The entire area had been cordoned and massive raids were launched to nab the extremists.
