Hyundai registers steady increase in cumulative sales

Chennai, July 2 (UNI) Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), India's second largest car manufacturer and the largest passenger car exporter, has registered a steady increase in its sales.

A company release here said it had sold a total number of 27,653 cars, both domestic and exports, in the month of June this year as compared to 27,251 last year.

The domestic sales accounted for 16,335 units while 11,318 units were exported, the release said.

Last year, HMIL had clocked in 147,636 units from January to June. The sales grew by 9.3 per cent to 161,296 units for the same period this year.

Out of this 100,925 units were sold in the domestic market while 60,371 units are exported.

Last year the domestic market had accounted for 91,273 units and the exports stood at 56,363 units.

The export had registered a growth of 7.1 per cent while the domestic market volume had increased by almost 11 per cent, the release added.
