Egyptian convicted of spying for Israel dies in jail
Cairo, July 2: An Egyptian man who was convicted in 2002 of spying for Israel has died in jail while serving a 15-year term, Egyptian security sources said today.
Sherif al-Filali, believed to be in his early 40s, was convicted in a state security court of trying to collect military information and data on Egyptian tourism and an agricultural project.
One security source said the circumstances of the man's death yesterday were unclear.
