Pondy: Councillors relay fast on dances in hotels

Puducherry, July 2: Councillors of the Puducherry Municipality today began a relay fast inside the municipality campus to protest against the permission granted to two hotels to hold classical dances.

Cutting across party lines, the councillors said the issue did not figure in any meeting of the municipality and the decision was taken unilaterally by Municipal Chairperson Sridevi.

AIADMK State Secretary A Anbazhagan alleged the hotels could hold lewd dances in the pretext of classical performances and announced his party would organise massive agitations before the hotels.
