Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants arrested in Bengal
Howrah, Jun 30 (UNI) Three persons, including two suspected militants of Hizbul Mujahideen, were arrested from Jagacha police station area today.
Superintendent of police N K Singh said the two Hizbul members--Md Raj(25) and Md Zakir(29)-- had been arrested from the house of one Sheikh Samsuddin at Sultanpur village following a tip-off.
Samsuddin was also arrested for harbouring them as fake passports, visas and other incriminating documents were seized from the house.
The SP said Raj and Zakir had come to Kolkata from Delhi on June 17 and were looking for a transit route to sneak into Bangladesh.
However, their exact motive was being probed, he said.
The arrests came close on the heels of the nabbing of four Harkat-ul-Jihadi al-Islami(HuJI) members from different parts of the state, who were close associates of Jalaluddin, the HuJI area commander, nabbed by Uttar Pradesh police in connection with several terrorist activities across the country.
