Seven hardcore militants nabbed in Manipur
Imphal, Jun 30: Seven militants were nabbed by jointly by police and the Army in separate incidents during the past 48 hours, police said today.
Imphal East SP K Lupheng said two underground cadres, one each of People's Liberation Army(PLA) and United Kuki Liberation Front(UKLF) were nabbed yesterday.
SP of Imphal West District Clay Khongsai said two cadres of People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak(PREPAK) were nabbed along with one nine mm pistol and a two-wheeler.
Police were continuing the search based on revelations by the arrested militants. In this process, yet another PREPAK cadre was nabbed with a two-wheeler by the Imphal West Police.
In another incident, a cadre of United National Liberation Front (UNLF) was also nabbed by a combined team of Bishenpur police and troops from Bishenpur district yesterday.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles officials said one Tangsapao of Churachandpur district was apprehended by their troops along with a kilogram of opium worth about Rs one crore which was handed over to police yesterday.
