Saheb Singh served nation with distinction: Kalam

New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam today said he was saddened by the death of former Delhi Chief Minister Saheb Singh Verma who had ''served with distinction in various important assignments''.

In a condolence message, Dr Kalam said he had personal interactions with Dr Verma when the late leader was a Union Minister.

''He served with distinction in various important assignments in public life, including those in the state and the central government,'' the President said.

Dr Kalam said he had admired Dr Verma for his interest in library science and working as a librarian for a long time.
