No place for industries looking only for tax rebate: Khanduri

Dehra Dun, June 30 (UNI) Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri today expressed his concern over incidences of industries trying to establish units just to get tax rebate provided by the state government.

In his inaugural address of Sheron Bio Medicine Ltd at Selaqui, one of the areas being developed as industrial area in the state, Maj Gen Khanduri said those industries with vested interest would be thoroughly discouraged.

He maintained that it was one of the priority of his government to speed up industrial development in the state and to encourage genuine industries.

The government wanted that maximum industries were established in the state so that maximum employment opportunities for local youths were generated, he added.

Maj Gen Khanduri said the state government has made provision under which 70 per cent reservation has been fixed in employment for local youths in the industries.
