LJP and AJSU leaders injured in violent clash
Jamshedpur, June 30 (UNI) At least five people, including leaders of the Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) and the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), were injured in a violent clash between the agitators and the members of the Tata Motors union here today.
Police said the incident took place when hundreds of LJP and AJSU activists demonstrated before the Tata Motors company gate, demanding permanent jobs to 3400 temporary workers.
They also burnt the effigy of the union president and the incident enraged the union members, who started brickbatting.
LJP state general secretary Tarkeshwar Tiwary, party's East Singhbhum president Aftab Ahmed and AJSU district spokesman Sanjay Singh were injured in the clash.
While Ahmed and Singh sustained head injuries and were hospitalised, Mr Tiwary received minor injuries.
However, no one was arrested in this connection.
