Indian Panchyati Raj delegation leaves for Pak
Amritsar, June 30 (UNI) A 60-member Indian delegation, headed by Union Panchyati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Ayier, today left for Pakistan via Wagah border to study Panchyati Raj system of that country.
The delegation, comprising Panchayati Raj Ministers, zila parishad chairmen, members of panchayat samitis and some officials from West Bengal, Maharashtra, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab, arrived here by Shatabadi Express train this afternoon.
Later they left for Pakistan through the joint border check post at Wagah where they were accorded a warm welcome by Nazim of Lahore Miyan Umar Mehmood.
The delegation will return on July 4.
