I am deeply grieved by Saheb Singh Verma's death: PM

New Delhi, June 30 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has expressed deep grief at the death of former Delhi chief minister Saheb Singh Verma in a road accident today.

In a letter to his wife, Ms Sahib Kaur, Dr Singh said: ''I was deeply grieved to learn of the sad and untimely demise of Shri Sahib Singh Verma in a road accident in Rajasthan today.'' ''I had the privilege of knowing him for many years and working with him in Parliament. In his untimely and unfortunate passing away, the country and his constituents have lost a prominent leader,'' the letter said.

It further said: ''please accept my heart-felt condolences and sympathy on this sad occasion. His absence will be deeply felt by his wide circle of friends and admirers and followers.'' UNI
