Manipur: Heavy gun battle at border areas

Imphal, June 30: Gun shots were heard at the Indo-Myanmar border at Moreh of Chandel district since midnight last night.

Police said they have not yet received any report and were enquiring into the matter.

Moreh town was limping back to normalcy after a series of killings during the past two months in clashes between different militant organisations. Border trade between India and Myanmar, which was halted since May, had also resumed recently.
