Five STF jawans wounded in Doda encounter

Doda, June 30 (UNI) At least five Special Task Force (STF) jawans were wounded in an encounter with militants at Ujjainpur, about 16 km from here in Jammu and Kashmir this evening.

According to offical sources, three Special Police Officers (SPO) were also among the wounded police personnel, who were being shifted to the district hospital here.

The identity of the militants, who were firing at security personnel from a hideout, was yet to be ascertained.

The army troops have also reached the site and cordoned the area.

The encounter, which started at around 1600 hrs, was on progress till the last reports came in.
