Congress bandh call evokes good response in Khambhat city

Anand, June 30 (UNI) Congress-sponsored bandh in Khambhat city against enhancement of taxes by Khambhat Municipal Corporation has evoked good response with most of the shops and business establishments shutting down their shutters.

Khambhat resident Ramanbhai Rana had gone on an indefinite fast since last Tuesday to protest the increase in taxes like water and housing by the BJP-ruled Khambhat corporation.

Congress corporators Nitin Brahmbhatt, Chandubhai Kadia and others led a rally today afternoon and gave a memorandum against the tax hike to the chief officer of Khambhatt Corporation U D Sinha and Mamlatdar Mr Patel.
