Chahal sent to judicial remand till July 14
Patiala, June 30 (UNI) A local court today extended judicial remand of B I S Chahal, former media adviser to former Chief Minister Amarindar Singh till July 14 in a case of forgery and cheating registered against him here.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate S S Panaser also turned down the application of Chahal seeking 'B' class facilities in the jail as he had enjoyed cabinet status in previous Congress government.
The CJM noted that his court was not the appropriate place to move the application and directed Chahal to approach the Jail Superintendent for the facility.
Chahal was produced in the court after expiry of judicial remand in the case.
He had been granted bail in the 'kitchen fraud' case a few days back but was denied bail in the Mercedes Benz fraud case on June 23.
His counsel has now applied for bail in the Session's court and the case would come for hearing on July 2.
